
The GW Hatchet is an editorially and financially independent student newspaper that is published on The George Washington University's campus in D.C. The Hatchet is the second-oldest continuously published newspaper in the District, only behind The Washington Post.
What I Did:

Winner of the Society of Professional Journalists’ “Best All Around Paper" award in 2022, 2021

Filmed and edited 50+ videos that collectively amassed 35,000+ views on our YouTube channel

Invited to and attended early screening of “Outer Banks” Season 3, where we interviewed stars Madelyn Cline and Madison Bailey and garnered 15,000 views on our filmed interview

Increased video team membership by 200 percent, the biggest it has been since pre-Covid

Managed and led a team of 12+ videographers, teaching them how to properly use cameras and editing software
Some More Info:
I was promoted from videographer to Video Editor within only six months of being on the paper.
The Hatchet was one of the only college newspapers to continue to produce video-related content during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With my 3.5 years in an editor position, I was the longest-running staff member on the paper.
