"Campaigning to Govern"
"The United States presidency is one big, four to eight-year-long road trip. Presidents far and wide have traveled around the country to tout their political accomplishments, push for support for potential legislation, and help with other personal gains. This concept, known by Professor Chuck Jones as campaigning to govern, is an essential part of the American presidency, and is important in getting legislation and ideas passed through all the governing bodies."
"Bronx Born, Chance the Rapper Raised"
"Alphonso Bonds Jr. knew it the moment he first heard “Acid Rap” by Chance the Rapper in 2013. His house in the Bronx was filled with sounds from the mixtape that his older sister was playing out loud. He felt the beat. He connected with the lyrics. It was an album that sticks with him even to today."
"D.C. Bike Safety (Or Lack Thereof)"
"In 2019, Dave Salovesh was riding his bike on a stretch of Florida Ave. in Northeast D.C. when he was struck and killed by a driver of a stolen van. A bill had been sitting on the mayor’s desk for years before that, asking to build a protected bike lane on that exact street."
"Food For Thought: How What You Eat Affects Your Brain Health"
"As a young boy, Benjamin Bikman watched as his grandmother had her brain ravaged by Alzheimer’s, turning her into a child that acted younger than he was. Basic functions like dressing and eating become lost in memory as constant fear and forgetfulness took over."
